Hi there! I’m Marcy Delgado, a 42-year-old chef and passionate home-cooking enthusiast from Asheville, North Carolina. If you had told the 12-year-old me—standing on a stool to reach my grandma’s stovetop, trying to stir a pot of chicken and dumplings without splashing everywhere—that one day I’d be cooking for thousands of families through my recipes, I probably would’ve grinned and said, “Yeah, I know.”

Cooking has always felt like home to me. I didn’t go to a fancy culinary school. I learned from the pages of worn-out cookbooks, Sunday dinners with my big, noisy family, and trial-and-error experiments that sometimes turned into unforgettable meals—and sometimes ended up in the compost bin. I worked in a few restaurant kitchens in my twenties (mostly as the only one smiling while peeling potatoes), but I found my true calling in my own kitchen, where the rules were mine and the heart behind the dish mattered more than the plating.

My food is rooted in Southern comfort, but I’ve never been afraid to twist things up. I’ll pair cornbread with a smoky chipotle chili one night and bake a peach pie with cardamom and rosewater the next. I believe the best meals come from instinct, joy, and a bit of curiosity. Some of my favorite creations have come from opening the fridge and thinking, “Alright, what magic can I make out of this?”

To me, cooking at home isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about making memories, telling stories, and showing love in edible form. I want you to feel confident with a skillet in your hand and a smile on your face, even if your onions come out a little too brown or your cake sinks in the middle. That’s how we learn. That’s how we grow.

When I’m not cooking, you’ll find me gardening, chatting with my chickens (yes, really), or teaching kids in the neighborhood how to make pancakes from scratch. My kitchen is open to everyone, and my recipes are built with real life in mind—busy days, picky eaters, tight budgets, and all.

So whether you’re here looking for dinner inspiration, baking therapy, or just a friendly voice who’s burnt her fair share of biscuits, welcome. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea, and let’s cook something beautiful together.
